Fall 2012 Part deux

[caption id="attachment_2590" align="alignnone" width="300"] SPL's school has a harvest festival every fall and this year SPL & I got to go together (John stayed home with Z). This was taken at his class' booth: the photobooth. We had fun with the props![/caption]

[caption id="attachment_2619" align="alignnone" width="300"] This was an exceptional team and we had a fun season. Thanks to Coach John for his 3rd straight season of coaching (and he coaches fall and spring!!)[/caption]
[caption id="attachment_2596" align="alignnone" width="300"] Before SPL's teacher left for maternity leave, they made these fun hats. October 23, 2012[/caption] [caption id="attachment_2579" align="alignnone" width="300"] They loved playing on the floor this fall and paused for a moment so I could snap this cute photo.[/caption] Saying goodbye to our friend, Emma the Sheep. November 27, 2012. Emma was 14 and had been a friend of SPL's school since her lambhood days.  She was so arthritic that she couldn't get up and was in a lot of pain so she had to be put to sleep Fall 2012. :-(.  SPL loved going for walks with Emma in the garden and still thinks about her and misses her when we go to the Farm for our work day or volunteer day. SPL loves having Z sit on his lap

Thanksgiving: Having his TX cousins, Aunt, Uncle, and Nan here to visit (cousins for the first time!)

[caption id="attachment_2600" align="alignnone" width="225"] EAL and SPL on the tire swing. It was great having them here for Thanksgiving![/caption] [caption id="attachment_2601" align="alignnone" width="225"] SPL and his cousin EAL[/caption] [caption id="attachment_2602" align="alignnone" width="225"] So glad Dave, Sue, Nan and the kids could come visit for Thanksgiving![/caption] The Great Flood of 2012 [caption id="attachment_2607" align="alignnone" width="200"] We had an unusual fall rain pattern in which we got 2 back-to-back heavy rains. Our house is new so we were still working out the kinks with the architects and one of the main issues, it turns out, was drainage :-(. SPL was a tremendous help as were the local firefighters. Who knew that they were the people to call if you have water in your basement?!?! Not I until I just called the non-emergency line to see what help I could get. Turns out they are responsible for protecting property in the case of flood too (not just fire :-).[/caption]
December 12, 2012: SPL was psyched to get to feed Z for the first time. Z loves to eat so it was mutually enjoyable. Sweet potatoes were the food of choice!
